oatbagg1 Posted May 11, 2018 #1 Share Posted May 11, 2018 this may have been asked before but can someone explain the time changes as we cross to Southampton? Thanks, Maria
bellemere Posted May 11, 2018 #2 Share Posted May 11, 2018 You moan because it means you have lost an hour of being on the ship. They are very good about reminding when you need to change your watch each day.
Host Hattie Posted May 11, 2018 #3 Share Posted May 11, 2018 You will lose an hour on 5 days of the crossing, usually at 12 noon.
Summergee Posted May 11, 2018 #4 Share Posted May 11, 2018 On our last TA, when the clocks went forward they changed at midday but when they went back they changed overnight.

The majority of us party crowd don't ( moan). Ok, maybe we have lost an hour during our 'Afternoon Siesta', however, we are delighted that we now don't notice, a time change ( that 'formally came up' between midnight and 2 am) Time changes on transatlantic crossings are not a big deal, when you're enjoying the high life on the QM2;)

I can't wait until June I can moan for five days over my G&T while having lunch, having already had breakfast, brunch, mid-morning coffee and.... what was the time again! :')
tv24 Posted May 11, 2018 #8 Share Posted May 11, 2018 The change is usually at noon, although it is up to the Captain to decide, at least that is my understanding.

Quite correct, 12 midday becomes 1pm. So more bar revenue 'late evenings' (and into the early hours) ;)
Ubarrow Posted May 13, 2018 #10 Share Posted May 13, 2018 Last time we crossed Eastbound the change was at midday. We did find that an early dinner was too early and next time will dine later.
