Being English, the obvious question, is there a kettle in the cabin? Alternatively can you request one. Had them on previous cruises out of Southampton, but can’t remember what Princess did.

Thanks

No

How was the food in the buffet? We were just on the Ruby in Alaska and very disappointed in the buffet food. Same thing almost everyday and very unappealing. Looked like they just used leftovers and mixed it up. Dining room food was pretty good. Even the pizza that used to be good wasn't very good. Crust was too thin and crunchy. We are going to be on the Sapphire in Sept and hope it's better.

We eat in the buffet every evening as we didn't feel like sitting in the restaurant. Each evening there was a "Corner" be it Curry & Pies, Indian, Chinese , Italian etc. As well as these there were the usual roast meals, Fish and various vegetables. The salads were in the middle and there was always a counter with fresh fruit, cheese and biscuits.

The desserts are served separately outside of the self service area and there is a large variety of items to choose from. The staff were excellent and insisted on getting Tea and Coffee for you and continually being attentive and asking if you needed anything else. Well recommended.

The dessert selection in the buffet is much larger than what is available in the dining room.

Just to say that the pizza in Alfredo's was absolutely delicious and cooked to order. Alfredo's is situated next to Vines in the Piazza so it's a beautiful setting with lovely seating and you can listen to whichever entertainers are performing. Didn't have the pizza by the pool so cannot comment on that.

Totally agree, we had pizza in Alfredo’s on the day we docked in La Rochelle. Delicious pizza and a window table looking across to Ile de Re - what could be better?

Please could you let us know how formal was formal night. Were men in suits or just shirts and ties?

Thanks

As there were a lot of passengers from the UK, there were a lot wearing either suits or tux.

On the Sapphire May 5-12th, I saw men being turned away from main dining room for no suit jacket on 2nd formal night. Also, watched head waiter give man a jacket to carry on his arm and place on back of chair so he could eat in same main dining room, same night. And man who sat next to us did not have a tie, casual shirt open with white undershirt showing, but he had a jacket and was allowed in without incident.

The Ruby didn't have Alfredo's so it was just the one by the pool. This pizza used to be better out by the pool. We have been to Alfredo's once before and it was good.
