Have sailed many times with all the major cruise lines & am taking my first cruise with the Dawn to Bermuda this summer. However when I am browsing on the site under drink packages all I see is a daily liquor of $89 ,a soft drink package & water package. All other cruise lines have had wine packages that could be purchased prior to departure or even upon boarding, packages of 3, 5, 7, bottles etc, is this option also available & if so any ideas where I would locate the info

many thanks

Yes, the NCL package is called Viva Vino. It offers 4,6 or 8 bottles and there are three price tiers.

Searching for Viva Vino on here should bring up some discussions.

Also, keep in mind that whilst the beverage package is quite expensive, it is offered as a promo, where you just pay the gratuity.

For the Viva Vino wine program when you get on board look for a few tables set up in or near the Atrium

with an assortment of wine bottles on display. Not finding it ask a crew member. This sales point is usually

only available on the day of boarding and the Atrium is not the only place where wine is sold - look around

the pool deck. I believe you can order it from Room Service after the first day.

As noted it comes in 3 levels of pricing and the minimum purchase is 4 bottles.

The bottles are 750ml and give approximately 4 - 6 ounce or 6 - 4 ounce servings.

They are all corked - no twist offs.

You can have any or all of the bottles delivered to your cabin or let NCL hold them in their wine vault.

Left with NCL you are given a paper receipt for each bottle and tender that to waiter who will retrieve

the wine and serve it - recork the unused it for another time/place.

You should have a corkscrew in your cabin for uncorking it yourself - if not ask you cabin steward for one.

Or go to any bar which will open it and provide glasses if none are in your cabin - or ask cabin steward.

BEST PART OF THE PROGRAM - "NO CORKAGE FEES" !!!!!

An old program wine list from my files - definitely YMMV - a current list is on board at the wine sales point:

Lindemans, Bin 90 Moscato – Australia

_

"This is no longer available on NCL ships" is what I was told on the Jewel recently. One night we had an Italian Moscato instead and it was no good. On another occasion there was a different Australian one, good but not as good as the Lindemans.
