10:20 flight with Royal Genie departure

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

We have the Royal Genie with our next cruise and I was wondering if 10:20AM would be too early for an FLL departure coming off the ship? I know the genie can take you right to the front of the line at customs. We are traveling with a 1 year old and 5 year old, so we'd love to spend as little time at the airport as possible.

Any advice is appreciated! Thank you!

Just an FYI

We sailed in a crown loft suite on the Allure last August and we were one class below you.

Everyone other than those with genies met in the suite lounge and were escorted down to the champagne bar and then lead off by the concierges.

Grouped with us were two families whose genies dropped them off.

They attempted to be first but the mad dash by those who could not wait was like a bumper car race.

(No I behaved).

They were not happy and were not first.

Maybe just a couple ahead of us, so about 1/3 from the Concierges back.

If this is a perk I hope they wrote it on their evaluation.................and I hope since you are paying for the service you get it.

Hopefully this was just a one time fluke.

By the way we were thru TSA coffee in hand sitting at the airport by 9:05am, we were on first escorted time off.

Yes we were lead to the front of the customs line and just had to wait there about 5 min.

Enjoy

We were in Star Class on Allure in April and had a 10:15 flight out of FLL.

Our Genie met us in our suite at 7:00 and walked us all the way to the Suites Customs line. We had no problem at all making our flight.

For the Star Class customers whose Genie dropped them of with the Sky Class Concierge, they had every right to be furious with their Genie, but no right to be rude to other Suites customers. This was absolutely the fault of the Genie. NOT the way it's supposed to work at all. I sure hope that they had not yet tipped their Genie when all of this happened and they certainly had every right to roast the Genie in their review.

Our star class was on Oasis out of Canaveral. We were driving and wanted to get off as early as possible. Our genie took us straight through to customs. I was the second person out the terminal. Great benefit!

You should not have a problem. Last year with our Genie we were the first ones off the ship and made it to our 0900 flight without any problem. We were at the gate area by 0800 and that's even getting off the ship at 0715. However, one word of caution. On our last cruise there was a storm at the port with really high winds. We did not get to dock till 0645 which is kind of late from what im used to. I'm used to arriving back at the FLL port by 0500 or 0530. If we would of not docked by the time we did we would of probably missed our flight. This year we are booking our flight for around 1100 or 1200.
