If you're in port (Aruba) late, will the shops be open?

We're docked in Aruba from 1 pm till 11 pm. Will the shops stay open late? We're trying to decide if we want to do a little exploring in the afternoon on the Arubus, but I want to be able to shop.

Most stores downtown, near the port close at 6:00. Palm Beach has tons of shopping, with stores and kiosks open at night. You can take the bus or a taxi there. Both are very safe at night.

You won't want to spend more than a couple hours at a beach, if that's what you're planning....the sun is MUCH fiercer than in SC....by three-fold! You should have plenty of time to shop after your afternoon, head to the ship and get cleaned up and drop your purchases, then go back out for the evening!

We arrive Saturday afternoon, and are there overnight. I read somewhere that most thing aren't open on Sunday. Is that correct?

That is correct. The straw markets will probably be open. Even in Palm Beach, most of the stores will be closed until that night, but there might be a few open around the resorts.

We are planning to go to Eagle beach and after the sun goes down head to Palm beach area for dinner and shopping, we arrive at 1 as well so wish we had more time there

Per above ....

Going to Palm Beach for evening shopping is your best option!

We got back off the ship around 8pm and basically everything in that area was closed except the casinos.

 

So, when we arrived we did some shopping then went out exploring.
