Another RCI Visa question...

Recommended Posts

My wife and I each have our own separate RCI Visa cards. I would like to use the points to get two $500 price reductions for our upcoming cruise in October. I have 54,000 points on mine and she has 46,000 on hers. Is it possible to transfer 4,000 points from one account to the other like you can do with some airline miles? Does anyone have first hand experience where they have successfully done this?

TIA for your help and for all the useful tidbits I have learned from these boards over the last few years.

You cannot transfer points between accounts.

Why don't you use the same card number? That way all your purchases will be combined. We each have a card, but it is the same account number.

We opened the separate accounts to get the 10,000 bonus points on each card, but will now be combining the purchases on one card.

If you add 1000 points to your account by end of September you can still get $1000 off your cruise. You'll just have to buy 1-$500 cruise discount and 1-$50 OBC you can cash in onboard. Add that to the three $150 discounts you redeemed from your wife's account and that's $1000.

Don't you have to apply the points before final payment is made, which is mid July for us?

Thinking about my reply above, to be more specific, you redeem 1-$500 and 3-$150 cruise discounts prior to final payment and then redeem $50 OBC up to 7 days before sailing. Cash out the $50 when you board. Total redemption: $1000.

Yes, it took me awhile, but I did figure that out from your post. That sounds like a great plan. Thanks for your help!
