Specialty dining reservations

We are booked on our first HAL cruise on the Koningsdam in February 2019. When are reservations typically available to make for specialty dining? I called HAL customer service but the agent was unable to specify.

Start checking in September. I have always been able to make reservations at least 6 months in advance of a cruise.

I can't recommend Tamarind enough. It is a fantastic experience. This last time on K'dam was exceptional. We didn't do any of the other specialty restaurants this time. We were easily able to get our seating even though we didn't book until the first sea day. Sel de Mer seemed very empty whenever we wandered past and although initially I was interested I was put off by the mixed reviews here and the a la carte pricing.

We are returning to HAL after a 10 year hiatus. Does HAL offer discounts on specialty dining fees once you are on board like Celebrity tends to do or do they hold their pricing such that there is no downside to purchasing in advance as the prices won't get any better?Thanks,

If you purchase a dining package for 2 dinners in the Pinnacle in advance you can save a little. The downside is that you can't make your reservation till you are on board.
