tugboat Posted October 5, 2018 #26 Share Posted October 5, 2018 I thought this debate ended last month? Guess it's back. I understand the importance of cutting down on waste. There are many things that I see that I believe should be cut out. Like packaging. It seems like every time something gets less wasteful, something new is added. The debate is really about the fear of germs today. I grew up, drinking out of cups, and water hoses, and water fountains and I'm still going strong. The world will not end if straws are removed. The world won’t end if they don’t Sent from my iPad using Forums
Sargesmess Posted October 6, 2018 #27 Share Posted October 6, 2018 You can buy stainless steel bent straws on Amazon. They come with a handy little brush to clean them. We all have an environmental responsibility.

renysmom Posted October 6, 2018 #29 Share Posted October 6, 2018 Everyone complaining about paper straws should at least try them. I work for one of the paper companies who are now producing them. These are not the straws of yesterday. I used one all day a few weeks ago.

Rare travelberlin Posted October 7, 2018 #31 Share Posted October 7, 2018 Interesting, it never occurred to me that people could need their plastic straws so much, that they would bring them from home if not available on board. We have decided not to use plastic straws anymore for any drink. My iced coffee without straw tastes as good as the one with straws. Our small contribution to less waste. Alter Ego Posted October 8, 2018 #35 Share Posted October 8, 2018 Thank you. Once they go to paper I will bring my own. My iced coffee takes quite a while for me to finish and the staws get mushy same for frozen drinks but Im going to roll the dice and keep my staws at home for next month lol Sent from my iPhone using Forums NOT Allure, but this is how I got my iced lattes a couple weeks ago on Rhapsody. Was fine except, like you commented, I also don’t always drink my iced coffees very fast and the middle of the paper cup would get soggy. Surprised the other ships wouldn’t do the same. Is this unique? Otherwise, I had no issues with what they included a straw with vs didn’t. But, again, different ship.
