If the ship makes it to Juneau, I went on the Mendenhall Glacier Hike excursion. The trail takes you right there to the lake, but from the fact the water is rising, the trail may be underwater. If it isn't I recommend this excursion if you like to hike and are in fairly good shape. I wouldn't worry about it.

I find the assumption that everyone is on Facebook annoying too. Neither my DH nor I are on Facebook but in the case of the National Park Service Facebook account you don't need to be to see the first screen with the warning. When prompted to enter a userid or create a new account just click on 'not now.'
