this will be our first Celebrity cruise and we will be staying in s sky suite. Do you tip your butler and if so, daily or just at end of cruise?

Any tips on what he/she can do for us would also be appreciated

The daily gratuties include the Butler. We tip extra depending upon how much we used the Butler. One cruise didn’t use the Butler at all in only saw him in passing so no extra tip.

Butler will bring any room service order and set it up, will pickup & deliver your laundry, will make specialty restaurant reservation for you, escort you to suite guest reserved seating in the theater on evening chic nights, handle things like shoe shining, missing button fixed. If your sailing involves leaving you Passport at Guest Services when it is time to do pick them up the Butler will pick them up and deliver the. To your suite.

We tip at the end of the cruise.

The butler is part of your automatic gratuities. If you feel he has gone above and beyond, you could tip him extra at the end of the cruise. His job is to provide you room service, take care of your laundry, etc, so no on the spot tip is required or necessary if you order breakfast room service in the morning.

We are nearly at the end of our cruise. We didn’t ask our butler to do much (didn’t need much) and he didn’t do anything special on his own. He came by our room twice in 12 days. So we’re not inclined to tip extra.

Last cruise, we asked our butler to do a number of things (change/make reservations at last minute, etc.). She was always available and doing little things like keeping our fridge stocked without our having to ask. We tipped her well.

On the flip side, last cruise, the MC concierge did nothing. This time, she made our trip special. So she will get the tip.

Our butler on the Summit provided excellent service. Judas fixed my shoe, my sister's glasses, brought us chocolate covered strawberries and other assorted goodies. We happily gave him extra and wrote our praises both during the cruise and afterwards. He added so much to our trip!

Several years ago we had the pure pleasure of having Celebrity’s only female butler for our Aqua Suite on the Reflection. Her service was exemplary, we engaged in many conversations about her home in Istanbul and our home in Michigan. She brought us daily platters of dried fruits and nuts (like it would be served in Turkey) as well as premium cheese and cracker trays. This was in addition to the afternoon tea service. She even selected us as her choice of passengers to go out to the bow of the ship for a private sail away reception with the ship’s officers as we left St. Maarten and headed towards the sunset. Truly outstanding set and we left her with a very generous tip and thank you letter from us. Instead of the standard comment card being filled out, we also wrote a lengthy letter to Celebrity extolling her virtues and great service. If you ever have a female butler and her name is Nala, you will be in great hands and treated like one of her family members. She made our trip!
