helene109 Posted August 8, 2018 #1 Share Posted August 8, 2018 We have only been on Carnival recently. How do I find out what rccl has? gerif Posted August 8, 2018 #2 Share Posted August 8, 2018 Since each ship is different regarding restaurants, show, etc., I’d suggest reading recent reviews of the particular ships in which you are interested. That would be a start. Then you could come back here with specific questions.

It just came out of dry dock, where it received many upgrades/renovations. Additionally, the current Cruise Critic photo album on Mariner (https://www.cruisecritic.com/photos/ships/mariner-of-the-seas-274/) is woefully lacking when compared to the other RCI ships, example (https://www.cruisecritic.com/photos/ships/liberty-of-the-seas-389/.) There has been talk on here that Cruise Critic will be updating this album to bring it to parody with their other RCI albums. So my advice is sit tight and keep monitoring these forums for updates. tourismtessy Posted August 9, 2018 #5 Share Posted August 9, 2018 Definitely go on royal caribbeans website and research the ship there. It will tell you basic things about what the ship offers. There are brand new cabins on deck 11 (there are 4 junior suites and 2 inside cabins) next to the fitness center. They will have all new furniture in them. We are staying in one of them next month and I will do a review here on this board so just check back here periodically. Also go to the research tab at the top of the page (next to cruise critic) and you will find "reviews" there at the bottom. Just type in the ship name and you can read current reviews there. I wouldn't hold my breath for this. Cruise Critic has not given any indication that they intend to fix the photo section on Mariner. Odd/sad- because all of their other albums are much more complete, but maybe they just don't deem it as important. Time will tell.
mooseman52b Posted August 9, 2018 #7 Share Posted August 9, 2018 Keep checking back to this forum. Mariner was deployed in the Asian market for quite some time and there wasn't a whole lot of posting prior to her being refurbished and re-positioned to Florida. I’d love to see that photo album built out like the other royal ships. I plan on taking a lot of photos of the ship when we go in October, but I won’t do as good of a job as cruise critics professional photographers. As good as that album is, it's not as detailed as the ones Cruise Critic does. Better than nothing though you are right.
Islandgirl441 Posted August 10, 2018 #11 Share Posted August 10, 2018 I find YouTube quite useful. You can see what the ship looks like since the update and what people thought/liked/didn't like about their experience. Also they give tips on the best time to go flowrider, slides etc..
