Bellaggio Cruisers Posted September 4, 2018 #26 Share Posted September 4, 2018 We were excited about a particular 2020 itinerary on Splendor and tentatively booked, then we read the deposit and cancellation penalties for this new ship's maiden year and decided we couldn't commit to what we considered to be fairly onerous cancellation penalties this far in advance. That is not to say we won't book much closer in but with potential health and other family issues between now and the sail date we were just not ready to take the leap. We take insurance and our money is completely covered for cancellations. We have two cruises booked on Explorer in 2019 and two on Splendor in 2020. No problem. No worries. Just prayers to be well. Sheila I have an elderly father and both my husband and I have preexisting conditions...so we always get cruise insurance that covers preexisting medical reasons. It is not cheap but necessary for expensive cruises.
Oscarsgrandad Posted September 24, 2018 #28 Share Posted September 24, 2018 We're booked for the Miami to LA / San Diego sailing in 2020, our first time with Regent....And looking forward to see if the ship, the cruise line and the experience live up to the hype. Boats07 Posted September 29, 2018 #30 Share Posted September 29, 2018 (edited) We have booked our first Regent cruise but not our first cruise. We will be on the Splendor April 16 from NY to Venice. We loved the idea of being on a new ship and the itinerary. Looking forward to more information once the Splendor in completed. Travelcat2 Posted September 29, 2018 #31 Share Posted September 29, 2018 We have booked our first Regent cruise but not our first cruise. We will be on the Splendor April 16 from NY to Venice. We loved the idea of being on a new ship and the itinerary. Looking forward to more information once the Splendor in completed. The Splendor will be “almost” identical to Explorer so if you have any general questions (suites, dining, etc.), we’ll be happy to answer them.
