coffeeluv Posted August 19, 2018 #1 Share Posted August 19, 2018 We are booked in a RS for a cruise on Summit, leaving next Sunday. Haven’t heard from the shoreside concierge yet. In previous years we heard from her several weeks out. Has anyone had recent experience with the Summit shoreside concierge? How far in advance did you hear? Thanks! wrk2cruise Posted August 19, 2018 #2 Share Posted August 19, 2018 On Equinox sailing 9/3 and heard from the shoreside concierge last week (2.5 weeks out). I'd suggest calling Captains Club and asking to be connected to the Summit Concierge or at least leave a message for them to contact you ASAP. GastroGnome Posted August 19, 2018 #3 Share Posted August 19, 2018 We're sailing on 1st September on Silhouette and have also not yet heard. (Also RS). I was going to call them on Monday. This did happen last year too when we had to chase the concierge for contact.
coffeeluv Posted August 19, 2018 Author #4 Share Posted August 19, 2018 That’s exactly what I thought, so I called last week (the shoreside concierge #, found it in old emails). We left a message as she wasn’t in, but no return message. They said she hadn’t done the 8/26 sailing yet. I am trying to figure out whether to be patient, or call again. I guess it depends on the urgency of requests that need to be sorted pre boarding....We do feel it is to the benefit of the butler that they have your bar requests early or they are randomly stocking to have to restock later. Restaurant bookings etc can usually just be sorted when on board. Our experience with shoreside concierges has been a bit hit and miss with some information getting through but other requests getting lost somewhere in the communication line. Our last cruise was the first where literally every last detail had been attended to. Contact for us has usually been about 10 days pre cruise. On the one occasion we thought they hadn’t contacted us it was via a mobile and they had left a voicemail which we missed....might be worth checking. Sam.Seattle Posted August 19, 2018 #6 Share Posted August 19, 2018 We are booked in a RS for a cruise on Summit, leaving next Sunday. Haven’t heard from the shoreside concierge yet. In previous years we heard from her several weeks out. Has anyone had recent experience with the Summit shoreside concierge? How far in advance did you hear? Thanks! We have heard about 2-weeks prior when on the Equionix. Will this be your first Royal Suite?? The shoreside concierge is nice, but anything you want will be accomidated by your butler. Be sure that when you are boarding you get in the "suite" line and enjoy the escort on-board. Enjoy the RS!

I am also in a RS on 8/26 and haven’t heard from Jaimie yet either. The ship is completely sold out, so I expect she’s swamped. I plan to call tomorrow. So looking forward to the sailing!! coffeeluv Posted August 19, 2018 Author #8 Share Posted August 19, 2018 Thanks everyone. We have sailed in an RS before, and agree, requests are hit or miss. But we’ve had better luck with the shoreside concierge than with butlers (once our butler declined all requests, all things the shoreside concierge asks as preferences, and once we didn’t meet the butler until day 5 and two complaints through guest relations). Perhaps I will give it another shot this week.
Rare groryjm Posted August 19, 2018 #9 Share Posted August 19, 2018 Over all if you're in an RS or above the bar set and fridge requests will save the butter having to re set everything on embarks day so if you haven't heard by a week out I would chase it up. The numbers I have are +1 316 554 5605 or 5079
