Cabana Rentals at Half Moon Cay

So I heard that when you go to reserve a cabana online for Half Moon Cay, you get to choose which cabana you want...is this true? And if so, does anyone have any recommendations for certain cabanas?

You book/pay online then pick your cabana when you board. Stop at shore excursion desk as soon as you get on board- there are 15 cabanas but it's 1st come, 1st serve so it helps if you have priority boarding. I read one review last Oct. They picked #3 which is close to restrooms, bar and the food service area where they serve lunch. The higher numbers are farther down the beach so more quiet and less crowded but the bartenders don't go that far.

I like #12 which is farthest away from the "party". It's nice and quiet and hardly any people. I think that's what makes HMC so great for us. There's nobody swimming with us, it's like our own private beach almost.

I had one and when i went thru security they reminded me to go to the shore excursion desk to request my cabana. I choose 10, it was perfect.

We also had cabana #10 and loved it! It's far enough away from the big crowds but you can still hear the music from the pirate ship bar a little. Also there are bathrooms behind cabanas 9&10 which is convenient.

We had #10 & loved the location. The restrooms were very close by & YES the bar servers do go that far down the beach.

I prefer farther down the beach. We've had both $10 and #11 and love them. We had #5 once and continually had people coming up to use our shower, try to take our floating mats, etc. Not very peaceful.:rolleyes:

I went directly to guest services and I was the first one there. I had done some research on line as to which one I wanted. I ended up choosing number 10 which was just down the hill from the restrooms. Loved the location

Thank you all so much for the info! My sister has some medical problems so we don't want to have too far to walk to the restrooms or where the food is, but want to be where it is a little peaceful :)
