m8zenblue Posted October 4, 2018 #1 Share Posted October 4, 2018 Hey There Everyone ! I tried searching this subject on CC and could not find a thread on it. We will be on a 12 night cruise to St. Croix USVI, St.Johns Antigua, Castries St.Lucia, Bridgetown Barbados, St.George's Grenada, Kingstown St.Vincent and Basseterre St.Kitts & Nevis. I am looking for information on purchasing cigars in these locations, any info or experiences will be appreciated. Also, any information purchasing alcohol at ports versus purchasing on board ship. Thank you !
Rare cruisestitch Posted October 4, 2018 #2 Share Posted October 4, 2018 Try the ports of call board for the Caribbean, since you aren't asking about purchasing on board Celebrity. Also try your Roll Call, you might find some experienced cruisers there who can help you.
Brangwen Posted October 5, 2018 #3 Share Posted October 5, 2018 This is a nice shop right in the port area in St. Kitts https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g147375-d12255333-Reviews-La_Casa_Del_Habano_St_Kitts-Basseterre_St_Kitts_St_Kitts_and_Nevis.html
TeeRick Posted October 5, 2018 #4 Share Posted October 5, 2018 If you want truly authentic cuban cigars try to find La Casa del Habano but be prepared for a hefty price. Just do a google search or map in your port cities. Of course you can get cheap knock-off cigars everywhere in the Caribbean. Most gift shops have the counterfeits so beware. You're probably better off just getting cigars locally and taking them with you. Most Dominican and Nicaraguan cigars are better than most Cubans you could buy, and cheaper also. Any place that is a US territory(St Croix, St Thomas, Puerto Rico, etc ) will not sell Cuban cigars.
