soy oil in food prep

Hello everyone.

Is there a way to find out if the cruise line chefs use soy oil in food prep ? If so , will they prepare food without it if

a passenger requests that ?

If you have an allergy to soy, you can call the 'special needs" dept...and inform them. All cruise lines have a variation on "special needs".   Some items can be adjusted, but not all.  I would imagine cheaper oils would be used, tho.

best thing to do is contact the cruise line's special services dept  & have it noted on your file  that you have an allergy or sensitivity to soy

Then when you board the ship talk to the Maitre'd  or Chef

If you tell them that you are allergic to soy, they will make sure that you are nto exposed to it. You need to go through special needs.

I assume they'd steer you away from fried/sauteed food rather than frying yours in a non-soy oil. Less chance for cross-contamination that way.
