Still working on getting the $1000 gift card and $50 bonus gift card.

I called my card issuer this morning and they confirmed they are not declining the charge. They said Princess is presenting the charge and then voiding it.

I called the 800 gift card number for the umpteenth time and was told the website for purchasing gift cards is so overloaded some purchases are being kicked out.

Then I was transferred to someone who could look up the confirmation number. He said yes, that I was one of the unfortunate ones who was squeezed out. Twice!

But, he took pity on me and put me on hold to request permission to transfer me to someone who could actually help me. Permission granted!

Mary input my info and confirmed the $1000 purchase. She had to email the order to someone who can then email me the virtual bonus $50 card  in 5 to 7 business days.

I reminded Mary the promo expires in 3 days.

She said not to worry.

I am thinking of the $50 lunch I had two weeks ago. I felt a little guilty, but it was outstanding.

I could have eaten at home, skipped this gift card promo and all the hassle, and come out even. 😄😄

I just completed my purchase for $1000 in casino credits, my only issues were I had to call Princess to have it added in my cruise personalizer. There were no options online to add the gift card number and pin like the instructions say when you get the digital card. Overall pretty easy other than an extended hold due to high volume, but the Rep did email me my folio to confirm the gift card and $50 promotion had been added.

Thanks again for the heads up!

Brad

I am not sure why everyone is so excited about this promo which gets you a 5% bonus that must be used in a limited time period.

With the World's Leading Cruise Lines' American Express promotion, you spend $500 on a Princess booking and get $100 back within a couple of days, a 20% rebate. This promotion does not expire for several months so if you do not have an American Express card, there is still time to get a no-annual-fee one and use it for this promotion. (Note:  get a general card, not an affinity card such as Hilton AMEX or Starwood hotels AMEX.)

5% is 5% and it all adds up, besides I bought then with my Princess VISA card earning another 2%.   Made payments on an upcoming cruise and used the "bonus cards" right away.  As far as the AMEX deal goes, I used it on my wife's Delta Gold AMEX as well as my Hilton AMEX and doubled up the points.

Target will not let you use a Target gift card to buy a Princess gift card.  It is the Target credit card that gets you the 5% off.
