EVERYTHING is marked as 'Read'

Hello,

 

Whilst in a Roll Call thread, I clicked the 'Mark Forum as read' button only to find EVERYTHING had been marked as 'Read', or at least there was nothing in Bold to see. This applied to all Roll Calls and general forums, eg RCI, CC, Cunard etc.

 

I then have to have a mental note as to when I last viewed a thread/forum to work out what was probably new.

 

Any ideas anyone?

Are you sure you did not click the  " Mark site as read"

I have not tried it but what has happened is what I would suspect would be the outcome of clicking that.

I agree  when I Mark forum read  that is all that is  marked

when I mark site  read  then everything is marked

Nope, that's the point - all new content is plain font not bold.

I don't think you've yet answered the question about which link you clicked.

 

If you were in a thread then the only "mark as read" link is "Mark site read" near the top right-hand corner. It looks like this:-

 

 

And it appears beneath your user name in that area:-

 

 

If that's what you clicked, then CC has done exactly what you asked: marked the entire site read, including all threads in all forums.

 

If you only want to mark that roll call forum read, then you need to go to the roll call forum page (listing the threads within it). The link "Mark forum as read" is just to the left of the blue "Start new topic" button. Clicking that will mark all of the threads in the roll call forum read, but leave the read/unread flags in the rest of the site untouched:-
