10:55am flight out of FLL?

The cruise line says to not book before 11am.  We're only talking 5 minutes here.  If I don't book this - the next option for me is 7:49PM.

I know things can happen to make the cruise get in late... do I risk it?

 

I believe Luggage Direct wouldn't take it since it's before 11am so we'd have to be the first to get off with our bags and go straight to the airport.

Assuming you are docking at Port Everglades.

 

There are many threads here discussing flight times at FLL. You can book as early as 10am (some say 9:30). The cruise line won't transport you, but it is incredibly easy to catch a cab for about $15. Discussed here daily.

For a 10:55 flight you need to be at FLL NLT 9:30, and closer to 9:00 is better with the typical TSA chaos.  With the taxi Uber ride from PE to FLL taking only about 15 min (closer to $10+ in Uber or $15+ in a taxi as Bruce mentioned above), that translates into off the ship, with bags, and clear of customs/immigration by about 8:30. 

 

Usually should not be an issue -- you could carry your bags off if you want to give yourself some wiggle room in your schedules.

Not an issue as long as ship is on time and you get off early.

If your cruise line has self disembarkation (almost all do), you must use it so you can be among the first off the ship.
