Reply quoting only part of a post

If you find yourself wanted to reply to a post without quoting the whole thing, this set of instructions might be of help. It's particularly useful if you are replying to a post full of images.

I have to say that this feature is perhaps the best innovation in the new software. It's so good that I'm finding myself automatically trying to do the same thing on other forums, and being a bit flummoxed when nothing happens.

I've never been able to figure out how the thread star ratings work. In fact, I can't recall seeing a thread with anything other than grayed out stars. I just looked at a few very active, very popular threads - threads with plenty of likes in them - and there's still nothing, starwise.  Do you know of any "starred" threads?

the only starred  threads I see are ones I have posted in

No, I am referring to the stars on the thread, near the title. I think that's what @John&LaLa is referring to as well. See the gray stars below the thread title and above the page links in the example below.

I'm not sure it actually does anything. I've only ever seen the 5 gray stars.
