Wondering how exciting/interesting the shore excursions from Catania, Sicily are these days....or will be in a few months!  😲

I´ve been there in August and Mt. Etna had a little activity. It can change daily. I don´t think they currently do operate any tours up the mountain not even to the regular visitor area at the foot of the cable car.

This is a regular occurance. Nothing to worry about, only Air traffic and some tours to Etna are affected

Last week Mount Etna was pretty quiet according to a vulcano watch website in German. But Mount Etna is the most active vulcano in the world. It can change and it chanced frequently.

 

I haven´t heard anything about tours but up to the base of the cable car it should be fine anyway. It´s low season regarding cruise ships so not many reports.

Our NCL Spirit Cruise on April 28 does not have any shore excursions up for Messina yet. I called the Shore Excursion Dept and they said all excursions should be up by end of January. We have already had one port change - we were in Athens on May 1. The Acropolis is closed that day so they switched Mykonos and Athens dates.
