Unless conditions change again, there will be nothing to see at night during the sail-by.   The huge eruption that occurred last year has almost completely stopped and there is no lava currently flowing.    Sorry...it is spectacular at times, but Madam Pele seems to be resting up for awhile.    The park is still worth a visit from Hilo during a port stop.

They do stop and spin the ship around so everyone gets a view.  I've done the cruise 3 times and have yet to see anything other than a few red dots and once it rained so nothing to see at all that day.   Hopefully you get some better luck than we've had.
