Vancouver - hotel using public transportation?

We are a family of three, our daughter will be 20 months old by the time.
We are trying to find a hotel for our night in Vancouver. We arrive kind of late and it will have been a long day.
We don't know if we will be able to bring a baby/toddler seat and this limit us to using public transportation between the airport - hotel - cruise port. I know that it's leagal to take a taxi without a baby seat, but we won't do that.

We plan on taking the train (Canada line) from the airport, but need help finding a hotel that are within walking distance from a Canada line station.

OP already knows that 'roach, and (sensibly) does not want to trust their infant to out cabbies without a seat;-)

Google Maps would be MUCH more efficient for this query though OP, since without knowing how far YOU think is conveniently walkable I'd have to type out ~90% of all our downtown core hotels!!! Personally I'd reduce the set of options further by asking which hotels are also walkable to the pier next morning so you have no need to worry about any transportation except Canada Line inbound one time - several examples would include two Marriott properties (Delta Suites and Pinnacle) or the Ramada on the cheaper end of things (Google Map with Canada Place and all of these hotels here), and if you have a high budget the Pan Pacific is literally on top of the pier, with the Fairmont Waterfront across the street and the Pacific Rim a couple of blocks further down Canada Place from the pier (didn't bother mapping these, if you have legs they ARE close enough to walk!!!)

Downtown, close to the Skytrain Waterfront Station and Canada Place Cruise Terminal you have the Pan Pacific, Fairmont, Delta/Marriott. Those are the closest, but others are available that are further away. Downside is these are significantly more expensive than the options at the airport.

Vancouver Central Station - Hotel Vancouver & Rosewood Hotel Georgia

Haven't used any of those hotels, but they are ones I am aware of that are close to stations.

If you can bring your child car seat, arriving late in the evening, my suggestion is to stay in a hotel out by the airport. When departing YVR, we usually stay at the Coast Vancouver Airport, which is under 4 miles. They have a shuttle pick-up, or you can get a flat rate taxi. Next day the shuttle could take you back to the airport to catch the train to downtown.

The downtown Skytrain station is a short walk to the cruise terminal.

We stayed at the Hampton Inn - Vancouver Airport in Richmond.   They have a free shuttle between to/from the airport and at the time they used a 12 pax van.   It's a couple of blocks from the Bridgeport Skytrain station which we used everyday for a short week.

Or you can try the River Rock Casino Resort.  The Bridgeport Skytrain is attached to it.

Thanks for the re-plys. I will look into it tomorrow (it's getting late over here). The Pan Pacific is way over what I want to spend, 559 CAD.

My thought was to take the skytrain, get off at a hotel and then take the skytrain next morning to the Waterfront station.

Like I said, leagal or not, a taxi isn't an option for us.

You're going to find rates in downtown Vancouver to be very high.

If you are stuck on the RAV line, there are no hotels within very short walking distance until you get to Granville/Georgia (2nd last stop).  At that one, there is the Four Seasons (unless that has closed or was it the iconic Chartwell restaurant that did?), and the Rosewood and the Metropolitan (a Mandarin Oriental a long time ago IIRC) on the other side of the street.

More selection if you can walk a block or two more but not easy with bags and toddler.

Finaly booked a hotel in Vancouver, now we need to find one in Hawaii and a rental car. When that's done it's time to plan the days during our ports of call. Starting to miss the Caribbean, a lot less planing since we have been there several times.

We did the Marriott Airport (two other mid-high hotels also share same airport shuttle bus and parking lot).  We walked about 3-4 blocks to the Skytrain station the next morning.  Prices were very reasonable IMO, being about 50% of what the downtown hotels were,
