Looking at Viator excursion from the ship in September.  More concerned about Florence than Pisa.  Have 12 hours, and want to keep it under $200/person.  Any ideas or suggestions?  If successful, link of current idea is below.

Viator is  middle man not a tour operator so they will farm this tour out to another vendor.

Your post mentions Florence and Pisa but the link is for Florence and Lucca.  Which cities do you want to visit?

There are several tour companies that are well reviewed on this forum.  A car and driver averages about 400-500Eper day ....you can organize a semi private tour, then invite 4-6 people from your roll call to join you and bring down the cost.  Or this company does the organizing for you, but you still should advertise availability on your roll call:

Or if you don't need a guide, just take the train to Florence and DIY.

Or use tuscany bus is another transportation only that offers a few destinations out of Livorno.

We did a tour with papillon , amazing tour we had short stop in Pisa than on to Florence we had 8 in our group , 4 of us did museum with David they bought our tickets and skipped line, then went to a vineyard for a wine tasting, guide driver was great, less than 100 per person in a new Mercedes van. Check with roll call , 8 in perfect size for our tour.

Just a heads up, when we went to Livorno, we already had a pre booked ticket on the Tuscany Bus, but there were many taxi's at the port ready willing and able to take you to Florence, Pisa, Lucca, basically where ever you wanted to go. We didn't stop to hear their prices, as I said, we already had a bus ticket, but there are there, in force.

Cheers

We’ve taken TuscanyBus on a couple of occasions for the 2 of us and I cannot imagine that a taxi will be cheaper. We went to Lucca for 28€ each and friends went to Florence for 30€ each. TuscanyBus provides little to zero commentary for the return trip but the use of free wifi makes the trip seem shorter. Cheaper than a taxi and the savings over using the train is minimal when factoring in convenience.
