Grammycruiser07 Posted February 7, 2019 #1 Share Posted February 7, 2019 Hi all, I’m booking my cruise on Royal Princess in August 2019. I’ve been given a balcony room on deck 15 forward. I have 24 hours to confirm this booking, and I would love opinions on this option. I’m usually midship, and I’ve also never been on this particular ship. Thanks for any input! voljeep Posted February 7, 2019 #2 Share Posted February 7, 2019 why have you been 'given' ? why not pick your own cabin and location?
BDRebel Posted February 7, 2019 #3 Share Posted February 7, 2019 My preferred area is up to the front. I would find that cabin to be in my target area.

Colo Cruiser Posted February 7, 2019 #5 Share Posted February 7, 2019 If I had to be forward it would be Lido deck 16. Great location to the pools/HC and outside deck.

memoak Posted February 7, 2019 #7 Share Posted February 7, 2019 Personally I prefer aft cabins
GloriaF Posted February 7, 2019 #8 Share Posted February 7, 2019 I had a balcony on Lido deck and loved it. The only con I can think of is the could be more motion forward or aft vs midship.
Whitetrike Posted February 7, 2019 #9 Share Posted February 7, 2019 Do you have a specific cabin number?? If you do I suggest you look above and below it on the deck plan! This way you may be able to avoid noise and crew/service areas. I have been on the Regal, Royal's sister ship in a deck 14 midships cabin that was quiet and calm which made for a great cruise! Good luck with your decision! Whitetrike
satxdiver Posted February 7, 2019 #10 Share Posted February 7, 2019 First the OP needs to be sure the cabin is not under something on the Lido deck that could generate noise. The cabin needs to be forward of the forward elevator bank. At times when the ship has to drop anchor, there will be noise as the anchor is let go and the chain is let out depending on how close to the bow the cabin is located. The other point is that in rough water those near the bow will hear the huge waves hitting the bow and can cause a lot of up/down movement of the ship. Colo Cruiser Posted February 7, 2019 #11 Share Posted February 7, 2019 The OP is currently on Marina deck.

Grammycruiser07 Posted February 7, 2019 Author #13 Share Posted February 7, 2019 Thanks everyone. M115 was the cabin number, but I’ve decided to go to midship deck 9. The bridge was going to bother me I think. I’m going to be in Alaska so I really can’t complain❤️
