jordanaire Posted February 13, 2019 #1 Share Posted February 13, 2019 Anyone know how much damage was done this morning by the Norwegian ship to the dock here? Will it affect upcoming cruises?
DFWGUYZ Posted February 13, 2019 #2 Share Posted February 13, 2019 Looks serious but I don't know how it will affect the actual docking of ships.

Stinger-pr Posted February 14, 2019 #6 Share Posted February 14, 2019 The damage was to the East side of pier 3 which is mostly used by mega ships like RC's Oasis class. They are mooring platforms mounted on long columns, which is why you see them tumble down to the water. The are just mooring points at the end of the pier and they were constructed as an extension to the existing pier specifically to accommodate the bigger ships. The west side will still be used since it did not sustain damage and I doubt it will have any effect at all in cruise stops since basically every other ship, except the Oasis-class will be able to fit elsewhere and I've yet to see more than one of them docked at the same time in SJ. kdmbluerzr Posted February 15, 2019 #7 Share Posted February 15, 2019 Following this thread as I will be on NCL Jade scheduled to dock at SJ March 3. Sounds like the recent damage won't interrupt things too much. It looks like there will be 5 ships in SJ on March 3. Thanks all.
