river cruise cabins (in general or specifically scenic jade)

A balcony is of much less value to us on a river cruise than on an ocean cruise.  We had one because it was the only category available when we booked, but I would have taken a less expensive French balcony had one been available.  You are off ship much of the day, you can’t use the balcony when rafted and there was plenty of space elsewhere to sit with new friends or get out of the room.  Hope that helps.

One thing to keep in mind with Scenic is that if you upgrade to a Junior Suite or one of the Royal suites you get extra amenities. The most useful for us is room service. Depending on how gregarious you are, you might want to take some quiet evening meals away from your shipmates once in a while. For us, this is more likely to be the case on longer trips (such as yours at about 23 days). Or if one of you is under the weather, it's handy to have your meal brought to you.

Super cabin, just that bit more room than a straight balcony suite and not to far to walk to anywhere. The only thing you miss out on is the Table de revel and a few bits and pieces. I didn’t know you could book all the way through, fantastic. You still get cabin service etc what a great trip, enjoy CA

Oh see what you mean, there’s not much clear wall space in a Scenic cabin I usually prop them behind the keyboard underneath the tv/computer screen, which also shows the view ahead of the vessel, mind you the cabin staff are so conscientious they are usually tidied up and stacked neatly. CA
