From yesterday - high wind cause NCL "Epic Fail" and takes out two support piers trying to dock - all the more reason to trust HAL captains when they have to cancel a port due to weather and sea conditions: https://www.foxnews.com/travel/norwegian-cruise-ship-filmed-crashing-into-mooring-points-in-puerto-rico-epic-fail

It's my understanding that the Epic was having propulsion issues.  The stop at Puerto Rico was not part of the itinerary.

Here's a first hand report from that cruise:  https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2633969-epic-interrupted/?tab=comments#comment-56773769

Thanks for the link - interesting range of comments.

Chengkp starts discussing this at post #70 to give more detailed background about the variables. Sounds like it was more currents and tides, than winds.

I must be missing something but I can't find numbers on most of the posts and when I do find them, they are not always in sequence.  So . . . where is post #70, please?

Numbers on posts are very faint in the upper right hand corner of each post.  They darken up when you hover over them.
