Since I’ve never been to the NE, I was wondering which is better? Seeing Boston from 8-5 or from 4-10? I’m not sure what the “not miss” things/places are so I don’t know which to choose...

I am visiting Boston for the first time on the Carnival Sunrise in September.  We will be there from 3-10. I wish we were there from 8-5. I don’t think arriving in the late afternoon is ideal.

Me too.  Seems a very easy decision.

I just honestly wasn’t sure if there were things in the evening that weren’t worth missing (like Vegas in the daytime vs Vegas at night). I haven’t really begun my “research” of this cruise yet!

Understood.  I think as you do your research, you'll find you'll be happier in Boston during the day.

Well my 2 cents - we are doing a Princess cruise in Aug. and I think the times in Boston are 7am to 10pm. We were in Boston for a day last Sept. - there are many things to see and do, a variety of neighborhoods to explore and then the waterfront / harbor. So if you don't want to "jump ship" I'd  go for the longer stay.
