Is Daughter Considered a Past Guest?

Just wondering when a people is considered a past guest.  My daughter was 16 yrs. old on our first Carnival cruise back in 1996. She hasn't been on any cruise since and is thinking about booking one now. Is she considered a Past Guest even though she was a minor at the time of her 1st cruise? If so, how does she go about getting registered with Carnival as a past guest?  Thanks for any and all help!

Of course she is a past guest!

You need to jolt Carnival's memory of her cruise

by providing dates, booking number, name of the ship, itinerary,

Voyage Number, and cabin number - if you can gather that much info!

Just submit what you can.

Do you have your old cruise cards from that cruise?

If you do, I'd love to have them

for my collection of historic Carnival cruise cards, if I may.

People make mistakes. "Jolt" their memory.

I was on a cruise decades ago with another lady I met on a cruise previously. She was PLATINUM and going through my memory I thought I was also. She insisted we go to the Purser and have her check. The Purser disappeared for a few minutes and then came back apologizing up and down giving me my first PLATINUM card. Later that evening an officer came to our cabin, gave us a bottle of wine and apologized again. Classy, I thought. 🙂

Carnival occasionally does cute stuff like that!

I once randomly met my Cruise Director  Felipe -in a quiet hallway

and reminded him that I'm "the guy with the cruise card collection"

"Ah YES!" he said, Glad to see you again! - we shook hands and he said

Anything you want, just let me know!

I said, well for me- nothing,

but my wife's heart is set on a ship-on-a-stick thingy,

and he laughed: She'll get one!

Later that day, we got back to the cabin

to find Madam's ship-on-a-stick, as requested - and a bottle of fizzy stuff!

Later in the evening after the Show,

and participating in his music knowledge quiz on Promenade Deck Five

near the Casino (you know the routine..)

as he ended the show and was packing up his stuff

we went over to thank him so much for his kindness.

He looked in the cardboard box from which he had been pulling out shipsOAstick

as prizes for winning - there was one left!
He took it out and pushed it at my wife

and said "Here, you might as well have this one too!"

And so my wife disembarked from VALOR with TWO shipsOAstick

and all she ever had to do was smile nicely!

Yes.  Create her a Carnival account.....go to manage--->VIFP--->claim past cruises--->and finally click request past cruise.  It will ask the following.

Cruise Adjustment

Booking Number (Optional)
Ship
Sail Date

To submit multiple cruises, please click “submit/add another cruise”. Otherwise, click “review request” to continue

they 'lost' my first cruise from 1996, so the online booking thing didn't work for me.  i called them with the details, sail date, etc and they had me send an email...a couple of days later, they added it for me so now it is counted.  give them as much info as you can.

and Aplmac, niiiice card collection.  and as for ships on a stick, i'm not into trivia and all that stuff, so i never really have a chance to win one.  on my last cruise on the carnival Legend, they were running short on entertainment for the show they used to have on the last night of the cruise (where people dressed up as madonna, aretha, britney, etc....) i made a deal with the Karaoke guy that if he'd give me a ship on a stick, i'd do the show.  he gave me two and i love them!

Thank you!

I've been collecting them now since my first cruise in May 2007!

If/when I die, I want them to go to Carnival Corp. HQ in Miami

because the collection is unique or near-unique!

You haven't seen the half of them, yet!

If you have any you might part with, I gladly accept any donations!

I've had a few generous souls from CruiseCritic send me cards, from time to time.

I also have crew cards, which are even more interesting in their diversity!

The same thing happened to my cousin.  Our grandparents took my cousin on her first cruise on Carnival's original Mardi Gras.  She had to call Carnival and supply them all her information, they add it to her VIFP.

Thanks for all your replies. Unfortunately, neither of us remembers very many details. I never expected that I would get hooked on cruising so I didn't save any if our stuff. We went in June 1998 (not 1996) right after school let out. On the Fantasy to the bahamas, Inside cabin, all 5 of us! We'll do some more investigating.

My sister hadn't been on a cruise since 1998 and my Mom well before that. All I did was create accounts for them on the website and their VIFP numbers were automatically added with their past cruises. I didn't need to enter anything special except their names and birth dates.

I see it on your list in your signature. If you have credit for it on your account you can get the needed info by calling about yourself and asking. I was able to find out past room number on my one I'm missing in my signature very easily.

If you go to Photobucket.com and do a search for user Aplmac

you should come up with a whole bunch of my photos, categorised

- among them Cruise Cards.

There's also a section here on CC for Cruise Memorabilia

where I started a thread of collecting cruise cards.

good to know. i really should explore this site more while killing time waiting for my cruise.  there are so many links/ topics, it looks overwhelming. i stick to the main topics mostly.  however, it was on this website that i discovered you could cruise on container ships!  like WHAT??? i'd never even considered it before.  anyway, i'll explore and find those pics. thanks again for sharing.

That should be enough info. Same thing happened to me, except I was 13 when I cruised. They found it and added it for me.
