O.B.C. for tips?

I have read on the board that people have used their unused on board credit to designate extra tips for staff(butler, lumenae, etc.) Do we know if the people we choose actually receive  the money? I would hate to think that these hard working people did not get the extra cash.

We just did this on Edge. We had a ton of OBC and used some for our cabin attendant. It can be used for your butler. Your choices are limited. Pick up a card from Guest Relations. Our cabin attendant told us that the money is deposited in their account.

I have been thanked (gave money on first leg of back to back and the steward thanked me on second leg).

I take Thank You cards and when I use OBC for extra tips I tell the person when I write the note how much we gave & to expect it in there check.

On our cruise in November we were told the OBC would go directly to the butler and suite attendant.  Anything designated to dining staff would be shared.
