Seaside Spring Break Cruise - March 30, 2019

We had our white night outfits ready but they were not quite MDR appropriate so we got dolled up and headed to dinner.

Of course we ran into this again.  They really need to fix this!

Dinner was quiet and uneventful.  Here are pics of tonight's offerings.

After dinner we went to the room and swapped out clothes to head to the show.  Teenie decided she had had enough and tapped out.  She did not even discuss this with us.  She simply got to the room, changed into her night clothes, and got under the covers.  

 

This left mama and me up to fend for ourselves.  BET!!!

 

We headed up to the theater and nabbed some seats.  We got there a little early so there was a bit of downtime before the show started.

 

PHOTOBOMB!!!

 

 

 

This show was a little slow for me.  More singing and dancing than acrobatics.  Mama enjoyed it. Here was the highlight for me.

I would say a good portion of the passengers onboard participated in White Night in some fashion.  All the decks around the atrium were packed and top deck was standing room only.

We hung out around top deck around an hour before we decided to head back into the bowels of the boat.  The party atmosphere was nice but the music selection was a little too broad for us to get into.

 

 

 

We wandered around the decks for a while enjoying our "child free time"!

We ended our outing with a nightcap at the "CHOCOLATE BAR"!  Hey, I lost the bet but Teenie tapped out so "to the loser goes the spoils".

Summing up the day we had a good time between the port and ship life. 

 

Summing up the cruise thus far we are having a ball as a family and as a group.

 

We like to have somewhat of an itinerary but do not over plan and are more than willing to adapt to changes.

They started stacking chairs at 5 pm.  They did not bother us just let us stay.  Simlly packed up all open chairs surrounding us.  The water park, slides, and zipline shut down at 6 pm.

Hello from somewhere n the middle of the ocean once again.  Today was the same as others but also special in it's own right.

 

That's right yall- MAMA is up with me!!!!!!!!!

 

Today we had a mission.  We were going to spend the morning at the Miami Pool on one of those sofa bed loungers.  We were watching people soak up the sun on them all week and felt it was our turn.  Problem is there are 4k plus people and like 10 beds.  Odds are against you if you are not an early riser.  

Here is another obstructed sunrise but oh how wonderful it was - partial view of the sun piercing through a rain cloud.

When we got up top most of the beds were open but right around sunrise they filled up quick.  We staked our claim on one and then waited for the attendants to set up our waterfront oasis.  

 

 

We found most of the people who grabbed the waterfront loungers and chairs didn't even use the pool.  Well, not this group.  Mini-Me and I had the pool to ourselves.  I took this time to give her some lessons on water relaxation.

 

The water was so thick you could literally lay on it like a bed.  Add the gentle rocking of the boat and one could easily fall asleep.

She was relaxed but she still had to have some part of her body touching me to feel at ease!  It was nice just floating there with her as mama watched from the lounger.

 

When we got restless we would walk over to the hot tub and take in the heat.

Once we had enough heat we would head back over to the pool.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

We floated, swam, raced, and generally enjoyed our time together.  It was a good bonding moment.  This was the first trip she felt comfortable enough in the water to not cling to me like a cat.  Also, all that she learned from swim lessons came to light for her this trip.  Total Win!!!

A secondary reason for choosing the sofa bed was to get some epic shots of our family zip lining session.

Here she is celebrating her victory.  See when we were on the Allure she vowed to never ever ever ever zipline.  Well, here she is doing what she never thought she would do and enjoying it!

Here's mama again!  As you can see she volunteered to take the pics so she did not have to actually zipline.  She thinks she slick but I see what she doing.

And you know we had to hit the slides again and again and again and ....... You get the point.

So now we get to our rematch on the racing slides.  Left up to her it was a photo finish but the cameras always tell the truth.  I was done, standing, and filming her come out of the tunnel but she called it a tie.

 

We were having so much fun that I let her have it.  This trip was stacking up to be our best yet.

Since we were moving towards the water park area we gave up the sofa bed for greener pastures.  Once we were done with the slides, Teenie went on to plan in the pool and I went to relax with Mama.  I walk up to find her peacefully resting from her fun-filled morning of nothing :-).

 

I knew this was coming as she got up waaaaaaayyyyyy before her normal time. 

 

While I  was ripping and running with Teenie there was a rare sighting off the port side.  There was a whale sighting that mama failed to get on film 😞 .  That would have been epic.  She at least got to see it for herself.

Later in the morning a few of us went to the all-access tour!  It was then that I also realized that I missed both sessions of Master Chef at Sea.  This is what happens when you are having fun.  It also demonstrates how active a cruise is.  When you go I did not have time to do this or do that you are most likely enjoying yourself!

Food Time!

 

We did the buffer at the pool for bfast but had special plans for lunch at Ocean Cay.  We were saving what we thought would be " The Best For Last"!

 

Let's say it did not disappoint.

Kid's Pasta Dish

 

Softshell Crabs! Mucho Delicioso!

 

Grilled Branzino! I had been waiting for this dish for the last 9 months.  I had read about it, studies it, and could not wait to sink my teeth into it.  It was mouthwatering to say the least.  Melted in my mouth flesh with tender yet crispy skin!

 

Best dessert of the cruise!

 

Kiddie Icecream

 

One thing of note from the cruise.  At all 4 of the specialty dining restaurants, they had desserts on the kid's menus that they no longer offered.  Mainly, just offered icecream of some sort.  Not complaining since they only charged 12 bucks for a kid's meal, but don't show it and then say you can't have it.  Kids don't understand that all too well.  Teenie is of age to understand and if she did not want icecream I just paid for what she did want.
