Specialty Restaurants Booking

Recommended Posts

Am going onto a 12-nite Voyager  cruise. I understand that we are only allowed to make one reservation booking per Specialty restaurant prior to boarding. But after we get on the Ship, is there any limitation on how many bookings we can make in the whole trip, in total and/or per Specialty? Grateful prior fellow Voyager cruisers can share your experience. Many thanks!

You will likely be able to make additional dining reservations if you are flexible with the time and are willing to share a table.  Keep in mind that many of us like Compass Rose as much as the specialty restaurants and they have a dish from Prime 7 and Chartreuse on their menu every night (different every night).

Hope that you enjoy every moment of you vacation on the Voyager - she is a beautiful and amazing ship!

Reservations in the speciality restaurants are capacity controlled; both Prime 7 and Chartreuse are fairly small on Voyager.

Regent first ensures that all guests have the opportunity to dine in each speciality restaurant at least once during their cruise and only then allows additional bookings.

The longer the cruise, and the more flexible you are, gives more opportunities for additional bookings. There is a dedicated Dining Reservations Desk on board which you should visit, or telephone, early in your voyage to discuss options. If you have a Butler, he/she can do this on your behalf. Otherwise you can check early evening to see if there have been late cancellations.

As TC2 says, the menu in Compass Rose is extensive and we find that just one or two reservations in each of the speciality restaurants is sufficient during a cruise.

You also have the option of dining in Sette Mari (Italian) or the Pool Grill (casual) each evening; no reservations required. Neither of these venues is our favourite for dinner but some guests love them.

Also can vary according to which suite you have.   Some (Master, Grand and of course Regent) can dine in any of the speciality restaurants any evening they like.   If you have a Butler ask him to make the reservations...sometimes that works well.   Some years ago we simply went to the Maître d'Hôtel at P7 during meal service and asked for a table for the following night.  And got one!

On our two Regent cruises, with two more to come, we went to each specialty restaurant's Maitre D and we were able to add additional nites, especially if we were willing to share with other couples.  We found sharing was lots of fun and a great way to meet new people.
