J4NEC Posted April 16, 2019 #1 Share Posted April 16, 2019 We are doing an Eastern Med tour on Koningsdam leaving from Rome on 29th July. We are in port in Dubrovnik till 11pm one night and I thought we might have a mid afternoon light meal in town then we are doing an early evening tour. I thought we’d come back to the ship about 9.30 or 10. Can anyone tell me if the Lido or Dive In will still be serving food? I thought we might catch the late movie and have a burger or something. Thanks for any info on the latest we can get food/snacks. J
catl331 Posted April 16, 2019 #2 Share Posted April 16, 2019 (edited) The Dive In typically closes at 5:30 or 6:00, but the Lido offers a Late Night Snack from 10:30 to 11:30 or 11:00 to 12:00. Also you can get room service 24 hours a day. Edited April 16, 2019 by catl331
J4NEC Posted April 16, 2019 Author #3 Share Posted April 16, 2019 Hi, thanks for that info. Do you know what sort of thing the Lido does late night? Can you eat it while watching the late movie? Also, I’m presuming there’s a movie every night? J
catl331 Posted April 16, 2019 #4 Share Posted April 16, 2019 I don't know what the K does in Europe, but we had a pool-side movie every night in the Caribbean. And I don't know what's on the Lido Late Night menu, as we've never been to one.

Rare VMax1700 Posted April 16, 2019 #6 Share Posted April 16, 2019 (edited) Great movies on the in room tv. Many latest releases, Green Book, Bohemian Rhapsody etc. No problem to take plate of foid from lido. There are no trays available tho'. Currently the late night snack is 10.30 pm to 11.30 pm. Enough selection to keep you going to breakfast! Or 24 hour room service is available. Also NY Deli with pizza is open until 11 or 12 Edited April 16, 2019 by VMax1700
Rare Hlitner Posted April 16, 2019 #7 Share Posted April 16, 2019 There are pros and cons to each cruise line. One of the cons for HAL are the limited dining hours (when compared to lots of their competition such as Princess and Celebrity). Yes there is the late night snack in the Lido (generally opened for 1 hour) and there is always room service. You will not starve :). On the other hand, your options will be very limited when compared to what you could get on Princess, HAL, MSC, etc. There are a few rare times when the HAL Hotel Managers react to food issue. We recall one HAL cruise in the Baltic where hundreds of cruisers were on an all-day tour to Berlin and did not return to the vessel until around 10pm. They actually opened the MDR (open sitting) for those who wanted to go to that venue and also had a relatively large spread in the Lido (much more then the usual late night snack). But that was many years ago and not sure HAL would do that today. Times have changed and cut-backs are now the norm on all the mass market lines. Didn't get back until after 11 PM. No food available anywhere. Everything was closed down.
