Rare terrydtx Posted April 18, 2019 #2 Share Posted April 18, 2019 Normally a comped PG reservation is made by HAL and you will get a card with the date and time confirmation in your cabin when you board. If you do not like the date or time chosen you can go to the PG manager and try to change, but you should do this the first day on the ship. I have read on CC that a lot of the comped PG reservations are booked by HAL on the first night of embarkation.
Rare POA1 Posted April 18, 2019 #3 Share Posted April 18, 2019 We have always made and paid for our PG reservations ahead of time, using the online system. That way we get our desired time. We've always been given a credit for the PG meal after we've dined. There's always a risk that they'll tell us that they won't give us credit, but that's never happened. CruiserBruce Posted April 18, 2019 #4 Share Posted April 18, 2019 No. As commonly discussed here, you can't reserve without paying. If you reserve and pay, you can present your comp certificate and get the amount credited back to your on board account, once on board.
san diego spartan Posted April 18, 2019 #5 Share Posted April 18, 2019 We had the cam Pinnacle Grille as well and our reservation was made by HAL and it was indeed for the first night. We went directly to the dining room reservation when we got on this ship as we discovered it was for a super early time. We were able to change it to a later time that seemed a however, when we appeared for our reservation, and sat down, we were told that there was no Alaskan king crab legs which was what my husband had wanted to order. So after discussions we left the restaurant and did not eat and went to the main dining room. The next day we went down to the front desk and explain the issue. They confirmed that there was no charge on our account and that we still had the comped reservation. We've been booked it for later in the week at a excellent time which funny enough when we tried the first day the reservation clerk said that date and time was not available.
