Charleston Stay and cruise

I live in the Charleston area so don't have specific hotel recommendations as I have no need to stay in area hotels.  What I can tell you though, is that while the cruise terminal is downtown by the historic district, you generally will not find hotels downtown that allow you to leave your car (park and cruise) if that's what you were planning, and the the downtown hotels will usually be pricier.  You'll find better options looking in either Mt. Pleasant or West Ashley.  Mt. P is a separate town, but just over the Ravenel Bridge from downtown so quite convenient, and there are a slew of hotels near the base of the bridge on the Mt.P side.  West Ashley is an area of Charleston, west of downtown and across the Ashley River.  There are a slew of hotels along Hwy 17/Savannah Hwy.  West Ashley hotel rates are probably better than Mt.P, but Mt.P may be closer to downtown, and some consider the area to be nicer than the Savannah Hwy area.  (West Ashley itself is fine, but the part of Savannah Hwy where hotels are is an endless commercial chain of shopping centers, car dealers, chain hotels/motels etc.)   Ultimately either area is fine for a single night pre-cruise hotel stay.

We did a Park and Cruise package from Sleep Inn (Savannah Hwy.).  It was excellent!  They use Charleston Limo to shuttle back and forth.  It was clean, upkept, reasonably priced, and had a delicious breakfast included.  We have 2 more cruises from Charleston booked, and plan to stay with them again.

We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Mr. Pleasant just across the bridge last year.   If you're a Hilton Honors member (free to join) you can park for free up to 8-days.

Uber ride each way was less than $15.00.

Was it easy to get an Uber and was it pretty simple getting dropped off by Uber at the terminal?

Extremely easy.  Got an Uber XL both ways no issue.   Suggest crossing road from port to get picked up to go back to the hotel. Much quicker that way.
