Carnival Horizon cabin question

We are first time cruisers. We are going on the Carnival Horizon in October. We are staying in cabin 11202. It is an accessible cabin. Any tips for someone with mobility issues.

If you go to www.cruisedeckplans.com, choose Carnival, then Horizon, and scroll down the cabin categories to Inside with picture window, there is a video of 11201, the cabin next door.  It will be a mirror image of your cabin.  Click on Handicap cabins, and then click on the little camera icon next to the cabin number.  I can't view the video because my Adobe flashplayer is having problems, but I have had this type cabin before.   I think that is an open deck outside your windows, so you would have to be careful at night, although the ship is usually moving at night, and it would be a bit windy to be out there.  There will be a door between your cabin and 11204, and it can slam with people going in and out to the forward deck.  You are going to be a looong way from the MDR...EM

Make sure that you hop on over to the Disabled Cruisers forum.  There is a ton of great information there and I found it very helpful when getting out on our first cruise with DH's mobility issues.

You've already conquered some issues by getting an HC cabin.  Just take your time....waiting for elevators will be aggravating, but it is what it is.
