ddags1 Posted May 16, 2019 #1 Share Posted May 16, 2019 Has anyone stayed in the Yacht Club Suites next to the Top Sail Lounge on the Meraviglia? I was wondering how the noise level from the lounge entertainment is. Will be able to sleep at night?
Até Posted May 16, 2019 #2 Share Posted May 16, 2019 I have not been in YC on Meraviglia, yet. Entertainment in the Top Sail lounge on the MSC ships I have sailed on is pretty low key. A piano player, maybe a duet with violin. It usually ends by 9:30 or 10pm. I would have no reservations booking those cabins.
Rare Beamafar Posted May 16, 2019 #3 Share Posted May 16, 2019 I agree with Até. I'd be more concerned about how far forward those cabins are in relation to ship's motion.
Into Cruising Posted May 16, 2019 #4 Share Posted May 16, 2019 I stayed in the cabin right next to the TopSail Lounge on the port side, however on the Seaside. There was only once during the week that we herd anything, and apparently it was a young child with parents who thought it was ok to beat on the walls like a drummer. Thankful it was a one time occurence
hamrag Posted May 16, 2019 #5 Share Posted May 16, 2019 Most of the time the TSL entertainment on Meraviglia would help you fall asleep! We stepped 'outside' for entertainment in the evenings, returning only for a night cap or two.

I couldn't imagine spending all evening in TSL (unless when with company and having a natter).

Indeed, we did do that a couple of times with folks we really got along with. I often notice the Irish use of language is similar to us Scots....natter being the latest. I wonder what our American cousins make of these words, and the non British Isles Europeans also. Lang may yer lum' reek!
Rare Beamafar Posted May 16, 2019 #8 Share Posted May 16, 2019 Someone once posted that they had to google what I meant when I mentioned that I liked to have a Bailey's and hot chocolate for "elevenses". 😃

We enjoy wandering the atrium areas, for a wee gander....and often enjoy a drink listening to a decent singer or pianist or even jazz!
Rare Beamafar Posted May 16, 2019 #10 Share Posted May 16, 2019 Knowing that there's a haven to escape back to when the crowds get too much lol.
ddags1 Posted May 17, 2019 Author #11 Share Posted May 17, 2019 I stayed on deck 16 on Seaside Yacht Club and didn't have a problem with motion towards the front of ship but noticed some due to the height of the deck.
Rare Beamafar Posted May 17, 2019 #12 Share Posted May 17, 2019 On reflection, it's fair to say that, as the whole YC area is forward and at the highest point of the ship, there isn't much of a difference between being in the foremost cabin as opposed to being in the ones furthest back when it comes to the ship's motion. If the seas are rough it'll be much of a muchness. Best to de-camp to the lower, more central areas of the ship if it's an issue (personally I find the casino the ideal location 😜).
