Is there a beach directly off the port for RCL?

Costa Maya is not an island.  It is on the mainland.  There is a beach at the port. Small. Swimming would be via the pool versus ocean.

The ship excursions that involve snorkeling go up to Playa Uvero which is a 20 minute trip. As roads don't go directly along the coast heading north of the port.  If the excursion includes lunch it will be part of your cost.

There are restaurants at the port and all the beach clubs to the south in Mahahual have restaurants.  But there is no "private ship sponsored complimentary buffet in Costa Maya.

The cruise ships do not own this port and none of the cruiselines have any private access to beaches and complimentary buffets like they do at the many private islands owned by cruiselines. RCL has Coco Cay and Labadee where they own the entire islands and do have buffets set up that are complimentary.

You can do a ship's excursion or non ship excursion to many sites and activities in Costa Maya. Cruise critic is a great source of information from those who posted on their excursion experiences in this port and others.

Enjoy your time in Costa Maya!

There is a resort like area just outside the terminal. It has zip lining, swimming pool, dolphins and flamingos. It's simply beautiful and you can easily spend your day there.

But costs an arm and a leg or the first born of the Sinkovic Brothers :classic_laugh:

Does RCL offer complimentary shuttle when you dock at Costa Maya to get to their beach? The other question is does RCL have a buffet on the island that is complimentary?

What type of beach experience do you desire?

There are some all inclusive beach clubs with good reviews in the $60 to $65 pp range, including transit.

You can also get an inexpensive shuttle or taxi into town ($4 pp) and go to the Malecon.   There are a number of restaurants with beach areas there.  If you dine there, you can use their loungers and shade.  Food and drink along the Malecon are reasonably priced.
