lecach Posted June 5, 2019 #1 Share Posted June 5, 2019 None of the Carnival excursions really appeal to us. We'd like to see the caves, a tour of the island and the pink sand beach. Wondering if like other ports there are drivers waiting at the end of the pier offering tours and such? We do have a sunset catamaran booked for 6:30 and we dock at 10:00 a.m.
njhorseman Posted June 5, 2019 #2 Share Posted June 5, 2019 Yes, there will be drivers offering tours . Look for "Blue Flag" taxi drivers . They're certified as tour experts.
Rare Birdnutty Posted June 5, 2019 #3 Share Posted June 5, 2019 Are there also snorkel trips (by reputable companies) offered at the dock?

The Island Tour Centre at the Dockyard offers snorkel trips by several different well regarded Bermuda excursion operators. Rare CruisinCrow Posted June 7, 2019 #5 Share Posted June 7, 2019 I had the same issue with the cruise line's excursion offerings and ended up finding some great information about Blue Flag taxi tours on this thread: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/1143028-bermuda-private-guide/ Based on recommendations, I contacted Quinton Bean before our cruise and he gave us a great 4 hour island tour. It's probably a good idea to book someone in advance so you can work out the details of what you want to see and do.

The mini shuttle to the beach is often the best bet at $7 per person each way. There is also a public bus system and ferry system that might be good for the caves. Hartley's Helmet Dive is by Calico Jack's and the moon gate. It's about a 15' dive, no training required. Different than snorkeling but a really neat experience.
