Transfer Booking from TA

Has anyone transferred their booking from one TA to another TA, if so how do you do it? I have a 15 day Hawaii cruise booked with a TA but the 3 day sale being offered by another TA seems to be a better deal. While slightly higher in price when you add in the free gratuities and beverage package it's a much better deal. I'm not sure if it's for new bookings only, I'll have to check, I would have to consider if transferring the booking  and losing $600pp OBC and $250 off airfare would be cost effective.

Thanks for your input,

Brad

Your current TA should not have to give any kind of release. You are the consumer and should control with whom you choose to do business and can remove a TA from your booking any time. We have done this in the past and the key is to first remove the TA currently assigned your booking by emailing a letter to Princess. This will create a direct booking with Princess. You can then send another letter assigning your booking to a new TA.

Remember any transfer has to be done within 60 days of booking regardless.

Is this a new rule? We changed TAs before well outside of 60 days of booking. We had a problem with a TA who we had been working with for years who suddenly stopped responding to the numerous calls and emails I placed trying to get him to look into a price drop on our scheduled Hawaii cruise. I called Princess in frustration and they couldn't help me as long as he was on our booking so they instructed me on how to remove him - which I did. I then got a Princess rep to help me with the price adjustment and eventually assigned another TA to the booking.

Thanks, Colo I completely forgot about that. Luckily I'm still in that 60-day window.

Thanks for that info! I would not have known. We have generally been booking direct with Princess these past few years because of the Casino benefit - but have been considering using a TA again so this is helpful!

In this case you would just cancel the first cruise and book the new one with the sale price with the other TA

and take a chance of losing your booked cabin and not being able to re-book that same exact cabin with the new TA ?

Can’t have everything ...

You can’t transfer a booking and change it to a new booking without running that rise ... even with the same TA.

Another reason to book direct.

I’ll guess that in the fine print for the sale it says somewhere ... “new bookings only”

You can transfer the existing booking ... but you would still have to cancel and rebook with the new TA. The TA may be able to have Princess hold the cabin ... maybe not...
