DC to Miami

You'll get whatever is cheapest.

When we took a cruise that started in Miami and ended in San Diego, I took the air credit because I could book non-stop flights for less than the credit.

If I use O air, how likely will I get direct flights from Washington DC to Miami and back?

On a flight that short, there typically won't be a huge price differential, or a large number of flights through connecting cities.  It will likely be dependant on schedule.

Actually, it will be dependant upon what the current contracts are between the cruiseline and the airlines.  If they don't have non-stops between that city-pair in the contract, you will get what the contract provides.  And since those contracts are company proprietary information, your guess is as good as anyone's.

Further, if anyone says "well, they gave us XX in the past", that is merely a reflection of what previous contracts contained.  Like the investment TV commercials say "Past results are no indication of future performance".

Are  you comfortable with flying to Miami the morning of the day your cruise embarks? The only way that O air has even a chance  to be price competitive is if you are willing to do a same day fly in and even then you can probably find better pricing on your own and take the air credit. If you want to fly in early the deviation fee would wipe out any possible chance for O air to be priced decently. We live in the DC area and cruise Oceania out of Miami every winter. We always fly in a day or two early and take the credit, but even if we flew in same day we can always get a better deal by taking the credit. That even includes the cost of flying Southwest to FLL from either BWI or DCA and taking Uber to or from Miami.

The domestic credit is generally around $250 to $300 per person. I'm not a fan of flying in the day of the cruise but I can't fly anywhere from our market for that.
