Can UK Cruisers buy items on the Cruise Planner is USD

I am, truly, asking this for a friend.   If the friend is in the UK can he purchase excursions on the cruise planner in USD or is he limited to his home currency (or the currency he booked the cruise in)?

Your cruise planner will only show the items in the currency you booked the cruise in.

 

I book in both £ and $.
