On Board Credit-What can it be used for?

Hello everyone!  I am new to Oceania and wondering what I can use my on board credit for.  Can I use it to help pay for the gratuities?

One of the main attractions of Oceania is the food, use the OBC for a special dining experience in La Reserve, well worth the price.
