The new cabins were added to the new Grand Deck. (Deck 14). :classic_cool:

Yes, 22 Jr Suites, 2 Grand Ocean Suites, 2 Scenic Ocean View and 10 Insides on Deck 14.

We originally booked a junior Suite on 14 for our Paradise cruise to Cuba but got an upsell to a full suite on Deck 6 3 days before sailing.

thats wierd im looking now at booking this and noticed to go from the empress deck to the verandah deck is 135 dollars extra do you know why is there something special on that deck

Not sure what has changed with the new cabins, but the verandah deck used to be only suites and interiors.  Maybe those old suites are considered balcony cabins now vs. the ocean views on the empress?

4 decks higher and only one deck from the Lido....some prefer it.

Verandah deck balconies are Junior Suites.

Just got off of the Paradise. Cabin E138 did not have a thermostat.

Did you check on the actual a/c mounted in the ceiling.  They seem to have updated the decor in the cabins with they dry dock in January 2018, but the temp control is a simple rotary knob located in the center of the a/c vent.  Rather old school, but effective.

Yes. Thats just a vent. The A/C had a problem all cruise in our cabin. Carnival put cash on our card because of the problem, but you are right, the rotary knob is there, but it controls the flow of the fan. But it does not control the ac unit turning on or off.
