P&O cancel their cruises to Dubai for this winter - will RCI?

It has just been announced that UK cruise line P&O have pulled their cruises based in Dubai which were meant to start this October.  Could RCI do likewise?

Jewel is going there a bit later so RCI may wait some more.

I just saw an article about the P and O cancellations and wondered the same thing. I think it's very likely that RCI will make changes.

 

Also wondering what might happen with Hong Kong, we have a cruise due to end there in Feb and that situation seems to be escalating too.

I think they need a few tins of Dulux to get rid of the big Union Jack painted on the hulls of their ships!!!!!!

Wow. Swift nifty piece of marketing by MSC.  Just issued confirmation that their itineraries are going ahead in the region and offering OBC to any P&O displaced guests who book with them.....

Those itineraries are already pretty cheap on Jewel, not sure RCI is that desperate.

I'm wondering if P & O did that as its a 'British' ship / cruise line - with big Union Jacks on the side - and so more likely to be targeted?

It would be good if Rccl could also confirm jewel is going to the region, we have 2 cruises booked, also going to Hong Kong in January, janice

The Brits have a history to conceal their maritime flags and hoist other than British flags for deception or no flag - - -did not work for the Lusitania

P&O can’t really do that when it’s painted on the hull

It's interesting that at the moment Costa have not cancelled any sailings from Dubai and they have the same parent company (Carnival).
