lottiegreen56 Posted August 8, 2019 #1 Share Posted August 8, 2019 Can pregnant people get massages in the spa? Neither my husband nor I am expecting but wanted to purchase as a gift for the "sober" one in our group.
Lottacruises Posted August 8, 2019 #2 Share Posted August 8, 2019 Not sure but please be aware of carnivals policy regarding pregnancies.
Rare Essiesmom Posted August 8, 2019 #3 Share Posted August 8, 2019 Since at least half of the massage would be while lying on stomach, would that not be a little uncomfortable? Maybe there is another kind of spa treatment that would suffice...EM
JennVT Posted August 8, 2019 #4 Share Posted August 8, 2019 Can you check their "menu" of services and see if they offer prenatal massage?
kenb Posted August 8, 2019 #5 Share Posted August 8, 2019 Maybe a facial would be a better and safer choice.

I will look into other treatments, that is a good idea! Probably not the facial, she wouldn't have got pregnant if she'd went that route in the first place 😋
almclain Posted August 8, 2019 #7 Share Posted August 8, 2019 I'm pretty positive ladies who are pregnant cannot get massages. My SIL tried on Royal last year and she wasn't allowed based on their rules. I bet it's the same policy throughout all companies.

AHS123 Posted August 8, 2019 #9 Share Posted August 8, 2019 Her delivery prep will be easier if she orders a waxing on the cruise.

I asked him a few months ago about pregnancy massage for one of my sisters to surprise her with and he was basically horrified I would even entertain the idea and then I got some lecture about the whole "they have to be specially trained." Someone not trained in pregnancy massage could accidentally induce labor. I would probably skip the massage and go for a mani/pedi. That was something I LOVED doing when I was the *sober* one of the group. Also, make sure they aren't going to be too far along, there's a pretty strict limit on pregnancy and cruising. They are within CCL's policy, I'm being educated in this thread. I mean, personally I think that we go a little overboard on health and safety stuff but the part about triggering early labor sounds terrible and plausible so that alone is making me nix the idea. Will probably book her a mani/pedi and call it a day.
