Sea saw 56 Posted August 16, 2019 #2 Share Posted August 16, 2019 We had this on our Transatlantic cruise in April. Your cabin phone will likely have instructions on making ship to shore calls, however there is a special number you must dial in order not to get a charge to your account (didn't read that part before making our first call to the States). I believe it was called a "distinctive? or distinguished?" voyage perk. When we noticed the charge to our onboard account, we had to go to guest services to have it removed, so you might check with guest services before making your call, as the special number was on a flyer that I had not received. Gershep Posted August 17, 2019 #3 Share Posted August 17, 2019 It works just like a calling card. There will be a paper in your room with calling instructions and a code. Before call goes through a recording tells you how many minutes you have left. It's great to have. I wish they offered this more often.
Iworktocruiseandtravel Posted August 18, 2019 #4 Share Posted August 18, 2019 Used this several times to call our contractor and vet where cat was being boarded. Number comes up on their end as out of country (contractor rarely picked up but would message us wondering if the number was ours). Loved having it. The 120 minutes weren’t all used, but it was very nice to be able to keep in touch with people as we needed to. We were having our kitchen redone while we were away on our two week cruise 😊
