crystalspin Posted August 18, 2019 #2 Share Posted August 18, 2019 If you are concerned with clothing, (1) this is very much like a TransAtlantic in the fall from cooling Europe to always balmy or worse, Florida, and (2) come on over to https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/107-cruise-fashions-amp-beauty/ and tell us a little about your style and what you will be packing -- big checked suitcase? Carry-on only? Also, welcome to Cruise Critic!
Sauer-kraut Posted August 18, 2019 #3 Share Posted August 18, 2019 Pack things you can mix and match. I'd do a pair of trousers, then a couple of pairs of shorts. In October by the time you sail by North Carolina it will be warm, but perhaps cooler on deck when underway. A light windbreaker, short sleeved tops and of course bathing wear. bbwex Posted September 21, 2019 #4 Share Posted September 21, 2019 By the end of October, Montreal is going to be somewhat cold. We are in southern Maine, and the nights are already in the low 40's some nights. The days warm up in the sun, but by late October it will be cold here, much less in Montreal. Be prepared to layer and then remove layers particularly as you go further south. But all of the New England area will be reasonably chilly or even cold by the end of October. Jimnbigd Posted October 8, 2019 #5 Share Posted October 8, 2019 (edited) Maybe a Halloween costume, if you want -- Do Canadians dress up for Halloween like we do in the states? Note that there is a time change on Sunday, Nov 3 -- back one hour. Also I see you are in New York City on Nov. 11 -- that is veterans day, a holiday for some, and I think a parade. SRF Posted October 14, 2019 #6 Share Posted October 14, 2019 Layer. Short and long sleeves shirts/tops. Under shirts. Sweaters and light jacket. Lighter and heavier pants. If going to REALLY cold, at some lightweight (silk is great) long underwear. Also, from many years fall and spring sailing, it is amazing how a jacket with shorts works. Keep teh body warm, and the extremities stay reasonable.
