Rare JNAL2T Posted August 20, 2019 #1 Share Posted August 20, 2019 I usually cruise in January or February with a group of six ladies looking for some quiet and relaxation. We've only cruised on Celebrity and Princess lines but are considering booking with RC for our next cruise. Can anyone offer any advice on which ships to look at? we are hoping for a quieter ship with mostly adults. Anyone have experience with Celebrity/Princess and could offer tips on booking? Thanks much!
jakeil7 Posted August 20, 2019 #2 Share Posted August 20, 2019 If you are truly looking for a mostly adult environment, go smaller and/or longer. RC ships are much more family oriented. Of course, the time of year should help as the kids will be in school.
Rare h20skibum Posted August 20, 2019 #3 Share Posted August 20, 2019 I agree to look at longer cruises and smaller ships. Grandeur was probably close to what our sailings on Celebrity and Princess have been, but January and February is not the time to sail on her. Most of the Royal ships are more family oriented now, and they are quite different than what you experienced on the other lines.

This year it will be February. @JNAL2T - please give us some geographical information. Do all six of you live in the same area? What is that area, or areas? How much time do you have for your "girls' cruise"?

Merion_Mom Posted August 20, 2019 #6 Share Posted August 20, 2019 So you are all willing to fly. If you wanted to drive, you could cruise out of Cape Liberty (Bayonne, NJ) on the Anthem. She is doing 11 night Southern Caribbean cruises this January. You will find few children on these cruises because of the date and the length. But if you want that "older cruiser" vibe and that "old traditional cruising" vibe, go on the Empress out of Miami.
